Step inside a place where history propels you into the future. At U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, every corner tells a story of human discovery. This destination isn’t a quiet gallery—it’s an adventure that lets imagination take flight.

Touch the Past, See the Future

Did you ever dream of standing beneath a Saturn V Moon Rocket? Get ready—this rocket stretches longer than a basketball court and reaches taller than a ten-story building. It’s not just a model. It’s the real deal that powered Apollo missions, launching hope across the sky. Snap a photo with Pathfinder, the only full-stack Space Shuttle display in the world, with booster rockets and an external tank, right in front of you.

Not far away, the Apollo 16 Command Module sits patiently—a spaceship that carried astronauts to the moon and back. The Skylab Orbital Workshop and a shining piece of the Apollo 12 Moon Rock invite visitors to inspect the incredible hardware that put people literally above the clouds.

Space Camp and Stellar STEM

Kids and adults can actually try astronaut training at Space Camp®. Strapped into roaring simulators like “Moon Shot” and “G-Force”, you might feel your stomach tumbling as you discover the physics that shape real spaceflight. The camp has inspired more than 750,000 participants—and five graduates are now astronauts!

Curious minds flock here for Aviation Challenge® and Space Camp Robotics, too. These programs unlock the secrets of flight and robotics with hands-on excitement, mixing education and real-world fun.

Explore Rocket Park and Hands-On Exhibits

Rocket Park is a playground for the curious. Outside, walk alongside gigantic rockets, planes, and even spacecraft scattered across lush grounds. Inside, crawl through a replica of the International Space Station. Wonder what it’s like to sleep in orbit or eat space food? A walk through this exhibit will answer those questions.

Interactive science rooms and simulator rides are scattered throughout the museum. Try the MaxFlight coaster for a whirling trip through simulated space missions. Don’t forget the indoor rocket play area and outdoor playground. Even the youngest explorers find something to giggle and learn.

INTUITIVE® Planetarium and National Geographic Theater

When you’re ready for stellar views, enter the INTUITIVE® Planetarium with its sweeping 67-foot dome. Shows whisk you across the solar system, through black holes, and out past dazzling galaxies. If you love movies, catch a documentary in the National Geographic Theater. The towering screen brings rockets, astronauts, and planets to life in eye-popping detail.

More Than a Museum

The U.S. Space & Rocket Center isn’t just about artifacts on shelves. The whole campus is buzzing with live shows, science demonstrations, and special events. Real NASA scientists sometimes answer questions or chat about their work. Annual STEM events promise bursts of fun for families, students, and lifelong learners.

Nearly 17 million people and visitors from over 80 countries have already stepped through the doors. The center welcomes everyone, offering accessibility for families, seniors, and guests of all ages.
