Since 2002, we’ve been working right here in downtown Huntsville’s Lincoln community with one clear goal: helping families move from barely surviving to actually thriving. What started as one person’s vision to bring hope to a neighborhood struggling with crime and poverty has grown into something much bigger.
Today, we own 60 homes across two neighborhoods and serve over 120 residents through our proven approach to community restoration. But this isn’t just about fixing up houses. It’s about changing lives through our 3-point model for neighborhood transformation. Here’s how it works.
Point One: We Buy and Renovate Homes
We’re not flippers looking to make a quick buck. We’re in this for the long haul. Out of our 60 properties, we’ve completely renovated 47 homes so far, with 13 more in the pipeline for the next few years.
The results speak for themselves:
-
250% property value increase since we started acquiring homes
-
Two onsite property managers keeping everything running smoothly
-
Qualified HUBZone status bringing economic opportunities to the area
-
Safe, quality housing for 123 residents and counting
When you invest in restoring physical spaces, you create room for people to restore their lives, too.
Point Two: Housing Families Can Actually Afford
Finding decent, affordable housing in Huntsville shouldn’t feel like winning the lottery. That’s why our 2 to 3-bedroom homes with 2 bathrooms rent for just $300 to $375 per month.
We specifically serve families who are working hard but struggling to make ends meet. In fact, 100% of our residents are employed, with a median family income of $21,000. Most are single parents (95%) doing everything they can to give their kids a better shot at life.
Our housing isn’t meant to be permanent. It’s a 4– to 5-year transitional program designed to provide families with the stability they need as they work toward homeownership. Think of it as a launching pad, not a safety net.
Point Three: Support That Goes Beyond Four Walls
This is where things get really good. Through our Evolve program, families get way more than just an address. They get:
-
Personal mentoring through regular meetings with neighborhood coordinators for goal setting and accountability
-
Financial education, including our Faith and Finances courses
-
A rent incentive program that takes $25 off monthly rent when paid on time (building good habits pays off)
-
Help with continuing education, from GED classes to college courses
-
Matched savings accounts after one year to help build long-term financial stability
-
Mental health counseling at discounted rates (we cover the first few appointments)
-
Job training through our Jobs for Life program
-
Home ownership preparation classes
Our target? Help each family save at least $5,000 for a down payment on their future home. Many families successfully move off government assistance completely during their time with us.
If you’re enrolled in an approved educational program, you even get rent discounts while you’re studying. We want to remove every possible barrier between you and your goals.
More Than a Ministry—It’s a Movement
What we’ve built here in the Lincoln community is a proven model for holistic transformation. Families aren’t just getting by anymore. They’re advancing their careers, buying their own homes, and breaking cycles that have held them back for generations.
Our vision doesn’t stop at two neighborhoods. We’re working to replicate this approach in other parts of Huntsville and beyond, bringing the same restoration and redemption we’ve seen here to more communities that need it.
Whether you’re a family looking for transitional housing programs in Huntsville that actually help you move forward, or you’re someone who wants to be part of real change happening in Rocket City, we’d love to connect with you.
