Huntsville residents are preparing for an exciting celebration as the city marks 55 years of Earth Day with a special event at Hays Nature Preserve. This year’s festivities will bring the community together through a blend of education, entertainment, and conservation activities designed to honor and protect our planet.
Main Event: April 22 at Hays Nature Preserve
Scheduled for Saturday, April 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Hays Nature Preserve will be transformed into a vibrant center for environmental awareness. Organized by the Department of Landscape Management’s Green Team, the event at 7153 U.S. 431 in Owens Cross Roads marks a meaningful milestone in local environmental advocacy.
“As the 55th anniversary of Earth Day is observed, Green Team is excited about the array of family-friendly events that mix fun with learning,” said Landscape Management Manager Nikole Sothers. She emphasized that new additions this year will make it “the best it’s ever been.”
